Shawnee,OK : Shawnee man injured in crash near Elk City on March, Friday 23rd 2018

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a collision Friday evening left a Shawnee man in critical condition.

The accident occurred at 11:08 p.m. on Interstate 40 at the 32-mile marker approximately four miles west of Elk City in Beckham County.

The report indicated a 1994 Isuzu Trooper driven by Jason Brittain-McPherson, 20, Shawnee, was traveling eastbound on I-40 when it departed the roadway to the left, overcorrected to the right and went into a broad slide rolling the vehicle one time.

According to the report, the driver was ejected from the vehicle approximately 30 feet. He was then transported by Air Evac from the scene to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and was admitted with head and trunk internal injuries.

The driver was not wearing his seatbelt, the OHP report stated.
