Charlotte, NC : Stolen vehicle found after crashing in west Charlotte Saturday morning, on August 22 2015

A stolen vehicle was found Sunday in west Charlotte after crashing on Columbus Circle, according to police.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the vehicle was stolen at gunpoint on Thriftwood Drive around 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
Sunday morning a witness reportedly saw the vehicle stopped in the roadway on Billy Graham Parkway and said people inside the car appeared to be unresponsive. The vehicle took off, though once officers were spotted arriving on the scene.
Around 10 a.m. police say the vehicle was seen again on Freedom Drive and short pursuit started after the vehicle again failed to stop for officers. After about two minutes officers discontinued the chase, according to officers.
CMPD says they received a call about five minutes later regarding an accident on Columbus Circle. Police found the car unoccupied and determined that it was the same stolen vehicle.
A search perimeter was set up and during the search and one suspect was detained.
Investigators are working to find out if the suspect is the same person that originally stole the vehicle.
