DALLAS, SD : Winner man identified as driver in fatal crash on Monday, 26th November 2018
A 61-year-old Winner man died earlier this month in a one-vehicle crash in south-central South Dakota.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Monday that Albert Davis was the driver of the 2002 Ford F-150 pickup involved in a crash at about 6:35 p.m. Nov. 18.
Officials say Davis was driving the pickup westbound on U.S. Highway 18 when it went onto the road's right shoulder. He overcorrected and sent the vehicle back to the left, across both lanes, off the roadway and into the ditch, where it rolled.
The Department of Public Safety said Davis was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
