Columbus, OH : Ohio State Patrol investigating two Guernsey County injury crashes on Sunday, February 12th 2017
The Cambridge post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continued to investigate a pair of injury crashes on East Pike Road Saturday night and Cadiz Road Sunday morning.
Limited information was available from the highway patrol as both accidents remained under investigation and crash reports were not available as of press time Monday.
Multiple motorists were injured in both accidents, but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
According to reports at the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office and the patrol's Cambridge post, the first accident on East Pike Road (U.S. 40) was reported at 6:53 p.m. Saturday several miles east of the city.
Two automobiles reportedly collided in a near head-on collision that left one of the vehicles on its top along the roadway. A caller who reported the accident advised the occupants of the overturned vehicle were trapped The Old Washington Volunteer Fire Department, Cambridge Fire Department and United Ambulance were dispatched along with the highway patrol and sheriff's deputies.
The identities of the motorists involved in the crash were not available as of press time.
A third vehicle reportedly struck a tire from one of the vehicles involved in the initial crash. It was not known as of press time if the driver of that vehicle or passengers, if any, were injured.
The second accident at 9:45 a.m. Sunday on Cadiz Road (U.S. 22) also involved multiple vehicles.
