Tombstone, AZ : Three people injured in Tombstone school bus crash Friday morning September 25 2015.

Three people were hurt when a car rear-ended a school bus near Tombstone on Friday morning.

A white Plymouth sedan hit the Tombstone Unified School District bus on State Route 82 just west of the San Pedro River, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Kameron Lee.

Lee said DPS received the call about the collision around 7:19 a.m.

One of the 33 kids on board had minor injuries and was sent to a hospital in Sierra Vista for treatment. The driver of the bus and the rest of the kids were not injured, according to Lee.

Lee said four teens in the white sedan were heading to school when it rear-ended the bus, which was parked on the eastbound lanes of SR 82.

The driver was sent to a Sierra Vista hospital. The passenger of the car was extricated and flown to a hospital in Tucson. Both teens had non life-threatening injuries, Lee said.The crash prompted road closures for several hours.
