Two people killed in a crash Monday night in the Brown County town of New Denmark were identified as Simon Hill, 16, of Greenfield and Laurie Shaha, 32, of De Pere. They were riding in different vehicles, but both died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 8 p.m. near Glenmore Road and County Highway X. Five people involved in the crash, the other three were injured.
According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred when a pickup truck traveling south on Glenmore Road failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Highway X. The truck collided with a westbound SUV.
Hill was riding in the truck and Shaha in the SUV.
The driver of the truck, 17, and a passenger, 20, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the SUV, 65, sustained serious injuries.
One person is in custody at the Brown County Jail, and charges were referred to the District Attorney's Office. The person in custody had not yet been identified.
The crash is under investigation by the Brown County Sheriff's Office.
