Hesperia, CA : Man injured after crash with VVTA bus in Hesperia Friday morning, November 11, 2016
A man was transported to a local hospital after he collided with a parked Victor Valley Transit Authority bus in Hesperia Friday morning.
Authorities responded to the collision a little after 9:30 a.m. in the area of Arrowhead Lake Road and Danbury Avenue.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived and found a Dodge truck had collided with the bus that was occupied by the driver and one passenger. The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for precautionary measures, authorities said.
The bus driver and the passenger were not harmed, sheriff’s officials said.
“Through investigation it was learned the collision occurred while the bus was parked facing westbound at a bus stop on Danbury Avenue (and) it was struck from behind,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.
The cause of this collision was under investigation.
“Hesperia Sheriff’s Station reminds drivers that driving is a huge responsibility,” sheriff’s officials said. “Please pay attention to the road and other conditions that may create dangers in your path. Pedestrians and bicyclist are reminded to wear bright colors so that you’re more easily seen by motorists.”
