Beaumont, TX : Vidor woman killed in motorcycle accident on Interstate 10 in Orange County on Sunday, May 22, 2016
A 27-year-old Vidor woman died on Tuesday after succumbing to injuries she sustained in a Sunday motorcycle accident, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident happened on around 6:25 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 10 at the FM 105 exit ramp in Orange County.
Brannon Wooden, 34, the motorcycle driver, was being treated at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital as of Sunday night. Kadie Odom, 27, a passenger, was taken to the same hospital and was pronounced dead there on Tuesday, according to a statement from the DPS.
Wooden, who was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on I-10, took the exit ramp and then slammed on his brakes and lost control, Trooper Stephanie Davis said in a statement earlier this week.
The motorcycle crashed into the concrete sidewall and rolled over several times before stopping, Davis said.
Both Wooden and Odom were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, according to Davis.
