Modesto, CA : 47-year-old on bike dies after being hit by car near North Carpenter Road and Kansas Avenue on Wednesday, Sep 2, 2015

A man who was struck Wednesday while riding his bike in a busy intersection in Modesto has died from his injuries, police said.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. at the crossing near North Carpenter Road and Kansas Avenue.

The Modesto Police Department said the 47-year-old man was struck near the intersection and was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The teen driver stayed at the scene of the crash. The incident remains under investigation, but officials said that preliminary information indicates that the driver had a green light and right-of-way.
