The Villages , FL : 86- Years old man was killed after golf cart crash with minivan on Tuesday Morning , January 13th 2015

An 86-year-old man died after a crash involving his golf cart and a minivan in The Villages on Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Francis C. Hughes, 86, of Lade Lake, was driving a golf cart from the UK southbound on Morse Boulevard in the golf cart path in the area of Fuentez Avenue around 9:24 a.m.

Hughes attempted to make a left turn onto Fuentez Avenue and traveled into the path of a 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan, driven by Wendall Jesseman, 80, of The Villages.

Jesseman's minivan hit the golf cart, rotating the golf cart and ejecting Hughes from it, troopers said.

Hughes was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital, where he later died.

FHP said charges are pending.
