STRONGHURST, IL : Man dead in Henderson County crash on Wednesday, 14th March 2018
A 42-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash south of Stronghurst in Henderson County, Illinois.
Joseph D. Kane, Little York, Illinois, died when the 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving struck a guardrail near the intersection of Illinois Route 94 and Henderson County Road 1650 E.
The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m. in clear, dry conditions, according to Trooper Dan Hill, a spokesman for the Illinois State Police.
“Kane was northeast bound on Illinois Route 94 near Henderson County Road 1650E when he left the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and rolled down an embankment,” Hill said.
Kane, who was alone in his vehicle, was pronounced dead at he scene, Hill said.
He said the investigation is ongoing, but said no additional information will be released at this time.
Assisting the state police at the scene was the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Henderson County Coroner’s Office, Biggsville Fire and EMS, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
