A Brookings man is facing DWI charges after police say he ran his car off the road in Sioux Falls before running into a house.
According to Sgt. Tarah Walton, the accident happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday on the 800 block of N. Leadale Avenue in eastern Sioux Falls. When officer arrived, they found a 2012 Nissan Sentra had rammed the front side of a home.
Investigators say 30-year-old Eric John Robinson of Brookings had been driving at a high rate of speed north on N. Leadale Avenue when he missed a curve, went off the road, struck a tree, then launched into the home.
Robinson was not injured in the crash, though a 21-year-old male passenger was hospitalized for minor injuries. No one inside the home was hurt.
Robinson is charged with DWI and reckless driving.
