LA GRANGE COUNTY, IN : 16-year-old bicyclist injured in crash on US 20 near CR 350 West on Sunday, 19th May 2019

A 16-year-old girl was injured when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle on US 20, according to the La Grange County Sheriff's Department.

The crash happened at 4:30 a.m. Sunday on US 20 near CR 350 West.

Deputies said a vehicle was eastbound on US 20 behind two bicyclists also traveling eastbound.

One of the bicyclists turned in the path of the vehicle and headed north on CR 350 W.

The second bicyclist, 16-year-old Amanda Schrock, also turned north and was struck by the vehicle, reports said.

Schrock was flown to Parkview North for treatment of injuries to her head and upper body.

The crash remains under investigation.
