Sumter County, FL : Three people injured in Wildwood-area crash on Saturday morning, April 16, 2016

Three elderly people had to be extricated from a vehicle this morning after their passenger car crashed into the side of a tractor trailer in Sumter County.

Sumter County Fire & EMS spent almost 30 minutes cutting the motorists out their vehicle, Fire Chief Leland Greek said. All three were sent to Ocala Regional Medical Center – one by air.
The driver of the semi was uninjured.

The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. on State Road 44, just west of State Road 44A.

The crash remains under investigation.
