Port Charlotte,FL : One dead in crash near Charlotte County line on December, Tuesday 12th 2017

Bermont Road was closed Tuesday near the Charlotte/Glades County line due to a traffic crash fatality, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

A van traveling west on County Road 74, carrying six people, collided with a semi traveling east. One of the van’s occupants was confirmed deceased at the scene, while three trauma alert patients were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and two non-incapacitating injury patients were transported to Lehigh Regional Hospital. The semi driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to FHP.
