LAKE WALES, FL : Motorcycle rider injured in crash on Christmas Eve on Monday, 24th December 2018

A motorcycle rider on Christmas Eve was airlifted via LifeFlight after turning in front of a car driving without its headlights on.
According to Lake Wales Police Department reports, officers were sent to the area of 21500 U.S. 27 North after a red 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle and a black 2012 Ford Focus collided at approximately 6:08 p.m. Monday. Police said that people nearby who witnessed the crash said the Focus, driven by 19-year-old Jessica Townsend of 3731 State Road 60 East, Lake Wales, was traveling southbound on U.S. 27 in the inside lane without her headlights on.
The Kawasaki, driven by 46-year-old Earl Woods of 4847 Malibu Drive, Lake Wales, was making a U-turn at the turn lane in front of Dyer Chevrolet.
Police said that as the motorcycle made the turn, it was struck by the Focus.
