Washington Township, NJ : 23-year-old Long Valley man injured after crash in the area of Schooley's Mountain Road on Wednesday, July 27, 2016

A 23-year-old Long Valley man was flown to the hospital Wednesday after a serious crash on Newburgh Road in the area of Schooley's Mountain Road, police said.

Police say a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze crashed on the northbound shoulder of Newburgh Road at about 3:48 p.m. and sustained heavy front-end damage.

Nicholas G. Feller, the driver, was still seated within the vehicle when police arrived on the scene and had to be airlifted to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.

Feller was released from the hospital Thursday, according to township police.

Based on the preliminary investigation, Feller's vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason before striking a tree. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
