Sandy, OR : Two motorcycle drivers thrown off vehicles in Highway 26 crash on Wednesday, Sep 23, 2015
A motorcycle driver was thrown from his vehicle along Highway 26, causing another motorcycle driver behind him to also crash.
The incident was reported around 8 a.m. Wednesday near milepost 32. Officials say 65-year-old Marc Gibson was driving a motorcycle eastbound when he drifted to the left and struck the center cable barrier. He was thrown from his motorcycle and onto the highway.
Vernon Henderson, 68, was also driving a motorcycle and following Gibson. After Gibson crashed, Henderson struck his motorcycle, and was also thrown onto the highway.
Gibson was hospitalized in Portland with life-threatening injuries. Henderson was also hospitalized, and is expected to be OK.
The crash scene caused major delays in the area.
