WOOSTER, OH : A 61-year-old Brookpark man was killed on Sunday, August 13, 2017

A 61-year-old Brookpark man was killed Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of state Route 3 and Millbrook Road in Plain Township.

According to the Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol, Lloyd “Nick” Mowrer was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Amy Jolliff, Wayne County coroner, following the 4:55 p.m. incident. He was not wearing a helmet, the patrol reports.

Mowrer was northbound on state Route 3 when a southbound truck driven by Amy R. Dickman, 36, of Holmesville, attempted to turn east onto Millbrook Road and turned into his path. Dickman, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries.

Emergency personnel from Wooster Township Fire and EMS also were on the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the eighth fatality in Wayne County this year and the first involving a motorcycle.
