Fort Wayne, IN : A two-vehicle crash on Indiana 9 in Huntington County on Thursday, January, 4th 2018

A Marion woman died this morning in a two-vehicle crash on Indiana 9 in Huntington County, the county sheriff's department said.

Deborah L. Brankle, 58, died at the scene of the crash from blunt-force injuries, the sheriff's department said in a statement.

It said Tyson L. Gotschall, 31, of Fairmount was traveling south on Indiana 9, north of County Road 900 North, shortly after 7 a.m. when his vehicle went left of center and collided with Brankle's vehicle, which was traveling north on the state highway.

Gotschall complained of lower leg pain, the statement said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

It was lightly snowing at the time, but road-surface conditions did not appear to be a factor, the sheriff's department said.

The crash is under investigation by the sheriff's department and the county coroner's office.
