Egypt, AR : 2 women, including Texan, die in separate Arkansas crashes on Wednesday, November 16, 2016
Arkansas State police say two women, including one from Texas, have been killed in separate crashes on Arkansas roads.
Police say 26-year-old Megan Holt of Cash and 62-year-old Cynthia Hughes of Corpus, Christi, Texas, died in the crashes Wednesday.
A police report says Holt died when the car she was driving westbound on Highway 91 near Egypt in Craighead County was struck by an oncoming vehicle that had gone off the roadway, then overcorrected and crashed into her car. The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized in Memphis in undisclosed condition.
Police say Hughes was died at a hospital after the vehicle she was driving eastbound on Interstate 30 in Hempstead County in southwestern Arkansas spun off the interstate and struck a group of trees.
