A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and a van driver are recovering from minor injuries after their vehicles collided on Interstate 95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard, the agency said.
Trooper Nicholas J. Orsino, 35, of Davie, and John Edward Moye, 46, of Pompano Beach, required hospital treatment after the crash at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, according to the accident report.
Orsino's Dodge Charger patrol car rear-ended the 1996 Chevrolet Astro van in the right lane of southbound I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard, causing both vehicles to spin out of control, the report stated.
The patrol car was damaged when it hit the concrete median. The van came to rest in the two left lanes facing east, blocking traffic, the FHP reported.
Van passenger Tamekia Hewitt, 32, of Pompano Beach, complained of minor injuries but declined medical treatment, the report stated.
