Louisville, KY : Three people were injured after crash involving Louisville police on Fern Valley Road on Sunday morning, March 26, 2017
Three people were injured — one critically — after a collision involving a Louisville Metro Police officer Sunday morning on Fern Valley Road.
Just before 7 a.m., a Second Divison officer was driving his car west on Fern Valley Road, when he was struck by a Honda Accord near Jeanine Drive, according to Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell. The Honda made a left turn in front of the car from the eastbound lanes.
The impact of the crash caused the officer's vehicle to leave the road and strike a metal pole. The Honda Accord ended up in a ditch.
A female passenger in the Honda was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition, Mitchell said. The officer and the male driver of the Honda were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatenng.
Mitchell said that no charges are anticipated as the result of the crash. No other information was immediately available.
