Police say an Ohio man was apparently driving too fast when he died in a crash in the high-occupancy commuter lane of Interstate 79 near Pittsburgh.
The Allegheny County medical examiner says the driver was 28-year-old Phillip Mays, of East Liverpool, Ohio.
State police say Mays wasn't wearing a seat belt when he lost control of his car, which hit a concrete barrier and flipped over. The accident was discovered about 9 a.m. Sunday, but police weren't sure when it happened.
The crash happened in the northbound HOV lane near the Perrysville exit in Ross Township, just north of the city.
The car hit, then straddles a concrete barrier before hitting a utility box and traveling up an underpass wall before flipping over.
