STATEN ISLAND, NY : Car crashes into tree in Richmond on Monday, June 26, 2017

A car hit a tree Monday afternoon near the bottom of what is known to Islanders as "Snake Hill" for its treacherous turns.

The car crashed near the intersection of Richmond Hill Road and Old Mill Road.

One patient was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

The person's condition is unknown at this time, an FDNY spokesperson said. Emergency radio transmissions did not indicate any life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. Only one car was involved.
