Gaston County , NC : 23- Children were injured after School bus carrying 45 children overturned in Gaston County on Wednesday afternoon , January , 14th 2015

The driver of the packed school bus that overturned was cited Thursday for reckless driving, officials said.


Gaston County dispatch said a school bus overturned Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Chapel Grove Road near Linwood Road.

Officials said a storage compartment door came open on the bus and as the driver tried to close it she lost control of bus.

Annette Phillips is on leave with pay.

She hasn't had any complaints or problems in the two years she has driven a bus, school officials said.
