Bakersfield, CA : Driver injured in crash after fleeing deputies, KCSO says on Tuesday , March 28th 2017
A man led deputies on a short chase through Oildale on Tuesday that ended when he rolled his vehicle at a railroad crossing, sheriff's officials said.
The driver, Jerry Walker, 41, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Three ounces of suspected methamphetamine were in his possession, according to sheriff's officials, and he was booked on suspicion of drug possession for sale, felony evading, resisting arrest and a warrant.
Deputies tried stopping Walker for a vehicle code violation in the area of Airport Drive and Decatur Street at about 11:30 p.m., a Sheriff's Office release said. He refused to stop, and led deputies on a chase before losing control of his vehicle and rolling it at the railroad crossing at Roberts Lane and Castaic Avenue.
