Salem, OR : Astoria man dies in car crash near Miles Crossing and Youngs River Road on Saturday, 29th September 2018

An Astoria man died after driving off the road and crashing into a parked log truck near Miles Crossing and Youngs River Road.

Matthew Allen McKay, 39, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox just after 10 p.m. Monday when the car veered off the road. Police did not notice any signs, such as skid marks, of how the crash occurred, said Paul Williams, chief deputy of the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office.

Results of toxicology tests for drug and alcohol will likely not be available for months, Williams said.
