BELLE GLADE, FL : Two killed in fiery crash near the intersection of Hatton Highway and State Road 80 on Monday, 9th December, 2019

Two people were killed in a fiery crash crash involving a sedan and dump truck Monday afternoon near Belle Glade, authorities said.

The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hatton Highway and State Road 80, east of Belle Glade. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the sedan engulfed in flames, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

The fire was extinguished and firefighters confirmed that there were fatalities in the sedan. The number reported dead was two, said Lt. Yanko Reyes, spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.

As of 4:30 p.m., the westbound lanes of State Road 80 remained closed near the crash scene.

No other details were immediately available.
