Sheffield, AL : Dennis Zayatz was injured after a two vehicle collision at Abbe Road On Thursday, August 18th, 2016

A collision between a car and motorcycle on Abbe Road Thursday night ended with the motorcycle rider suffering serious injuries.

According to the Sheffield Police Department, Dennis Zayatz, 61, of Elyria was heading south on a Harley-Davidson around 9 p.m. when a Ford Focus driven by Jacquelyn Ala, 26, of North Ridgeville turned left in front of his

path into Cobblestone Square.

The car and the motorcycle collided, and the Focus continued moving and struck a Ford Fusion waiting at the stoplight in Cobblestone Square. The Fusion was driven by Velma Camel, 70, of Elyria, police said.

The drivers of both cars were not injured, but Zayatz was seriously injured and flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Center where he remains in critical condition.

Ala was cited with a failure to yield while turning left and expired license plates. Abbe Road was down to one lane for about two hours and re-opened at 11 p.m.
