Boston, MA : Dorchester woman died after fatal hit-and-run crash on Tuesday January 14 2016.
A Dorchester woman is facing charges in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Twenty-four-year-old Jaidys Pimental-Pena was arraigned Wednesday in West Roxbury Municipal Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation and leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury or death.
Boston police say they responded Tuesday evening to the city's Roslindale neighborhood where they found 78-year-old Silvia Acosta. She was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
Prosecutors say Pimental-Pena fled the scene but later returned.
The phone rang unanswered Wednesday at a listing for Pimental-Pena's attorney.
Police say another pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning in unrelated hit-and-run in Dorchester.
A 34-year-old woman was arrested in that case. She'll likely be arraigned Thursday.
