San Diego, CA : Driver suffers major injury from crash in San Ysidro on Saturday, 22nd February, 2020

A motorist who sped through a puddle on a San Ysidro road and crashed Saturday suffered major injuries, San Diego police said.

The 21-year-old Ford Mustang driver was heading north on East Beyer Boulevard around 7:10 p.m. when he hit the puddle, Sgt. Clinton Leisz said.The car swerved out of control, flew off the side of the road and landed 20 feet below in a parking lot. The driver suffered a fractured spine, Leisz said.

A passenger in the Mustang, a 23-year-old man, complained of pain and was examined at a hospital.
