THOMASVILLE, GA : Man flees, crashes driving stolen vehicle at North Madison and Smith Avenue on Friday, 14th September 2018

A man who police say was trespassing at a North Madison Street store and fought with officers fled in a stolen vehicle and crashed at North Madison and Smith Avenue about 2:15 Friday afternoon.

The suspect was tased.

"The taser was not completely effective," said Maj. Wade Glover, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.

The suspect, whose identity had not been determined at the time of the incident, jumped in a car at the North Madison store and fled. Police ran a check of the license plate and learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Florida.

An officer looking for the suspect saw the car, which wrecked when it struck a vehicle at the Madison/Smith intersection.
