Maysville, IA : One injured after a crash in Scott County on Thursday, September 1, 2016

One person was airlifted from an accident scene Thursday afternoon in Scott County.

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, at 2:25 p.m. Thursday the Scott Communications Center was alerted to a single vehicle rollover accident west of Mayville in the 7800 block of New Liberty Road, a two-lane blacktop road.

The driver of the vehicle had been ejected, the sheriff said. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Scott County deputies responded to the scene, along with Maysville Fire Department, MEDIC Ambulance and MEDFORCE Air Ambulance. The victim was transported by MEDFORCE in serious condition to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

According to a sheriff's office news release, an initial investigation indicated a 1998 Ford F-150 truck was traveling east on New Liberty Road where there is a slight bend in the roadway. The truck left the roadway to the right, where the driver over-corrected to the left, the release said, and rolled several times, during which the driver was ejected.

The accident remains under investigation. No additional information on the victim's condition was available Thursday night.
