Palm Beach County, FL : Fatal I-95 southbound crash near Sample Road causing delays back to Palm Beach County on Tuesday, 21st January, 2020

An 18-year-old from Deerfield Beach died in a single-car crash on southbound Interstate 95 near the Sample Road exit on Tuesday, officials said. Three more were injured in the crash.
Shaun Candio, 18, was behind the wheel of a 1999 Toyota Camry with three passengers at about 4:30 a.m. Candio was driving in the center lanes of I-95 when he “failed to operate in a safe and prudent manner,” according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.
Investigators don’t know yet what caused the crash. According to the report, the Camry swerved to the right, rotated clockwise across the outside lanes and slammed into the guardrail. One of the passengers was thrown from the car, the report said.
After hitting the guardrail, the car flipped onto its left side and righted itself moments later. Candio and all passengers were taken to Broward Health North with serious injuries. Candio was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other passengers were Kevon Shakim Bonnet, 18, of Deerfield Beach; Rubenson Registre, 19, of Coconut Creek; and Martin Fenelus, 19, of Deerfield Beach.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and charges are pending, the report said.
