Grant Parish, LA : Pineville man dies in motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 71 near Montgomery on Saturday night, May 21, 2016

A 60-year-old Pineville man was killed Saturday night when he was ejected from his motorcycle in an accident on U.S. Highway 71 near Montgomery in Grant Parish, State Police Troop E reported.

The victim was identified as Bobby R. Houston.

The single-vehicle accident occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday. Houston, who was wearing a helmet, was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson south on U.S. 71 when he lost control of the motorcycle which went off the right side of the road and overturned, police said.

Houston was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers in Troop E have investigated 19 fatal crashes in 2016, resulting in 21 fatalities.
