Tacoma, WA : 87-year-old woman dies in collision between car and semitrailer near East Portland Avenue and Puyallup Avenue on Monday afternoon, Oct 12, 2015

Police say an 87-year-old woman has died after the car she was riding in collided with a semitrailer in Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports the crash occurred after the 80-year-old driver of the car turned left in front of the truck Monday afternoon.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Eiko Warren of Tacoma. The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says the driver of the truck is not suspected of any wrongdoing.
