OSCEOLA COUNTY ,FL : Man, 19, killed in head-on Osceola crash, troopers say on September, Sunday 3rd 2017

A 19-year-old man was killed Sunday in a wrong-way crash in south Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said Monday.

Troopers say Natasha Johnson Smith, 27, of Spring Hill was driving a 2011 BMW west in the eastbound lane on State Road 60 about 10:20 p.m. while attempting to pass other vehicles.

Jacob Black, 29, of Fort Pierce was driving an eastbound 2015 Jeep. As Smith’s BMW approached, Black swerved onto the shoulder to avoid the crash, troopers said.

A third driver, Peter Finucane-Terlop, 19, of Plant City was driving behind Black and was unable to see the oncoming car.

His Volkswagen Golf GTI and the BMW collided, left front to left front, troopers said. Finucane-Terlop was killed.

All drivers wore their seat belts, investigators said.

The crash happened near Peavine Trail, west of Yeehaw Junction and Florida’s Turnpike in a rural part of Osceola.

Troopers said charges are pending against Smith, who was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Black was not hurt. His car had damage to the left rear tire.
