Aiken, SC : Reginald Walker, 35, dies after motorcycle crash near Park Avenue early Sunday morning, April 3, 2016
A motorcycle crash early Sunday morning has resulted in the death of an Aiken man.
Reginald Walker, 35, was pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Centers at 3:04 a.m. after he lost control of his 2006 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle near Park Avenue around 2:21 a.m., according to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.
Carlton said in a news release Walker died from multiple body trauma; his death has been ruled accidental.
Carlton said Walker was observed driving at speeds of approximately 78 mph by an Aiken Department of Public Safety officer; the officer turned around and clocked Walker again driving at speeds of 100 mph at the bottom of Kalmia Hill.
The officer lost visual contact of Walker’s motorcycle, which had turned onto Hayne Avenue, the release said.
Carlton said the wreck site was discovered several minutes later after Walker lost control of his motorcycle near Park Avenue, when he failed to negotiate a very sharp turn.
