An Aurora police officer was cited early Tuesday morning for allegedly drunk driving and crashing into a tree in a Colorado Springs neighborhood.
Officer Jaired Dozier was injured in the crash and transported to a hospital, according to a Colorado Springs police blotter. A doorbell camera captured Dozier’s car speeding about 1:23 a.m. before it crashed head-on into a tree head.
Colorado Springs Police spokesman Lt. Jim Sokolik said there is no arrest photo of Dozier because he was not booked into the jail. Sokolik said he didn’t know what Dozier’s blood alcohol content was at the time of the crash. Sokolik said Dozier told officers that he was a police officer as well.
“He let us know he’s an Aurora officer,” Sokolik said.
