Wichita,KS : One person in critical condition after vehicle crashes into Wichita grocery store on January, Saturday 20th 2018
One person is in critical condition after a vehicle crashed into a building in the 3000 block of W. 13th Street.
The crash was first reported at 6:07 p.m. Saturday.
According to authorities, the car crashed into Tianguis Carniceria, a Mexican grocery store. Authorities at the scene say one person was not breathing after the crash. After damaging one of the support beams for the awning, the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Judith Lopez was working at the store at the time when it happened.
“Honestly I just heard a big bang which I thought someone came in and I checked in front of the door and I seen the truck ,” said Judith Lopez, an employee at Tianguis Carniceria. “I was scared. I was shocked I did not know what to do, I immediately called 911.”
Sergeant Bill Stevens said it appears the driver of the vehicle suffered from a medical incident. The man, in his 60s, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
No one else was injured.
