One person dead in traffic accident near Montgomery Alabama

One person was killed and four others were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash Thursday that temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Chilton County.At 2:41 p.m. Thursday, Alabama State Troopers responded to the crash, which was near the 222 mile marker on I-65 in Chilton County. There were four vehicles involved.

There were four injuries and one fatality, according to a news release from Sgt. Steve Jarrett with the Department of Public Safety.
The injured people were taken to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital and the Shelby Medical Center.Jarrett said the name of the person killed would likely be released Friday.

The news release did not offer any further details on the circumstances of the crash, information on the vehicles involved or the severity of the injuries.
