Pendleton, OR : Several people injured, one arrested after crash on I-84 in Pendleton on Thursday, Sep 3, 2015
A single car accident on Interstate 84 injured several people Thursday and led to the arrest of a woman who had an outstanding warrant.
Oregon State Police say several people were injured, some critically, in a rollover crash in Pendleton. A 1995 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on I-84 when a tire blew out.
At about 2:30 p.m., the car left the road near exit 209 and drove into the center median where it "struck a dirt embankment and rolled an unknown number of times," Lt. Bill Fugate, an Oregon State Police spokesman, said in a news release. Two men were ejected from the car, according to witness statements.
The driver sustained critical injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. One of the ejected passengers also sustained critical injuries. He was taken by air ambulance to Oregon Health Sciences University.
Seven people were in the car at the time of the crash; however three people are believed to have fled the area on foot.
One of those individuals is a woman who police say had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested after getting treated for injuries at St. Anthony's Hospital, Fugate said.
The names of the individuals involved in the crash have not yet been released.
