CHASE COUNTY, KS : One injured in Chase County crash on Kansas Turnpike on Saturday, 27th January 2024

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a crash along the Kansas Turnpike Saturday morning.

Kansas Highway Patrol says a call came in around 5:40 a.m. for a crash in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near the Bazaar cattle pens. Investigators says two vehicles were disabled in the roadway when another vehicle driving northbound struck them. At the time of the crash, the roadway was slick.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia with minor injuries. The Turnpike was closed between Cassoday and Emporia for several hours as crews worked to clean up the road to reopen to traffic.
