Memphis, MO : Man injured in motorcycle crash northwest of Memphis on Wednesday night, July 27, 2016

A Memphis man was injured in a Wednesday night motorcycle crash northwest of Memphis.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1980 Honda 650 motorcycle driven by Samuel R. Gottman, 38, was eastbound on County Road 558, two miles northwest of Memphis, at 6:10 p.m. when it struck a deer that ran into the road.

Gottman was taken to Scotland County Memorial Hospital via private auto with serious injuries, then flown by Air Evac helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

The patrol was assisted by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department.
