CHESTERFIELD, NH : One seriously injured in Chesterfield crash on Route 9 on Monday, 10th December 2018

A woman driving a Massachusetts-registered vehicle was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Monday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash on Route 9 at the intersection of Pond Brook Road.

Chesterfield Police Officer Steve Laskowski said the woman was headed west on Route 9 shortly before 3 p.m. when she struck a vehicle that was turning right onto Pond Brook Road.

Police Chief Duane Chickering said the woman had life-threatening injuries and police were trying to reach her family. A third vehicle, which was leaving Pond Brook Road, was also struck by the Massachusetts vehicle.

The injured driver was extricated with the help of Spofford, N.H.'s Jaws of Life. A helicopter landing zone was initially set up at Spofford Fire Department before being moved to Keene. The injured driver was transported by Rescue Inc. to Cheshire Medical Center, in Keene for treatment before being taken by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, N.H., police said.
