SALEM, WI : Teen injured in Pierce County crash on Sunday, 16th October 2016
An Ellsworth man was injured in a crash with a farm semitrailer truck Sunday on U.S. 10 in Pierce County.
According to the Pierce County sheriff’s office:
At 12:07 p.m., the sheriff’s office was notified of an SUV rear-ending a semi on U.S. 10 in the Pierce County town of Salem.
Gary Schladweiler, 66, of Maiden Rock was traveling west and attempting to turn north onto 300th Street when Dawson Minder, 18, of Ellsworth rear-ended the semi at a high rate of speed.
Minder’s vehicle stopped at the northeast ditch of the intersection after sustaining heavy front-end damage. The crash also damaged the semi’s rear axle.
While Schladweiler was not injured, Minder suffered minor injuries and was transported to River Falls Area Hospital.
Ellsworth Fire Department and Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.
