HEFLIN, AL : Cleburne County man killed in accident on Alabama 46 on Friday, 14th October 2016
A 25-year-old Cleburne County man was killed Friday in an early morning traffic accident on Alabama 46.
Coroner Tracy Lambert said Jordan Perry of Heflin died after his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and an 18-wheeler truck collided head-on about 2 miles southeast of Interstate 20. Lambert said he was unsure of the cause of the accident.
Lambert said he pronounced Perry dead at 1:30 a.m. at the scene of the accident on Alabama 46 near Cleburne County Road 62.
“Our prayers are with the Perry family at this time,” Lambert said of himself and the other staff of the coroner’s office.
Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the accident, which occurred at 12:45 a.m., according to a statement sent by Trooper Gary Daniel.
The driver and a passenger in the truck were not injured, Daniel said.
Perry’s funeral is scheduled for Monday, 11 a.m. at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
