Columbia,MO : Columbia man injured in a crash on September, Sunday 3rd 2017

A man suffered moderate injuries in a car crash on State Highway 40 around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Michael E. Sims, 65, of Columbia, was driving eastbound in his 2000 Acura TL when his vehicle swerved to avoid a deer, according to the highway patrol. The car traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck the ground and a tree.

Sims, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Columbia for treatment.

His car was totally damaged in this accident, according to the highway patrol.
