McDonald County, MO : Area crashes leave five injured on Route EE, 2 1/2 miles west of Lanagan in McDonald County on Monday, 31st December 2018

An Anderson woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 1:15 p.m. Monday on Route EE, 2 1/2 miles west of Lanagan in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sarah E. Fichtner, 27, was taken to Freeman Hospital in Neosho with moderate injuries.

The patrol said Fichtner's westbound vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped an eastbound vehicle driven by Linda C. Puryear, 71, of Noel.

• A Joplin man was injured when he was hit by a vehicle at 10:10 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 43, a mile north of Joplin in Jasper County, the patrol said.

Preston Schoonover, 32, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Joplin with minor injuries.

The patrol said Schoonover was southbound on a bicycle when his rear tire was hit by an unknown vehicle that then left the scene.
